If it is not there, go to Edit then Preferences, navigate to Cite and then to the tab Word Processors: under Microsoft Word click on ‘Reinstall Microsoft Word Add-in’. If it is not available, you will have the option to place a request for the article through the library’s Interlibrary Loan service. When you install Zotero Desktop on your computer, the Zotero tab is automatically added to the toolbar in Word. If it is available, you will be taken directly to the article. With Zotero you can easily create group libraries, synchronize them with the central server, and edit them together with your collaborators. Zotero will search the library’s holdings to determine if it is available. Don't worry if it doesn't match exactly the item type you're importing. The icon will look different depending on the item (journal article, webpage, PDF, etc.) as shown below. Click the button in the browser to import it. The next time you want to check if the SHU Library has the full text to any article citation in your Zotero Library, all you’ll need to do is highlight the citation you want to lookup, click the green arrow button in the right-hand pane, and select “Library Lookup”. Highlight the folder in your library where you want to put the item. Under the OpenURL section, type in the following URL in the “Resolver” field and click “OK”: Next, click the Advanced icon in the Zotero Preferences window. From Zotero, click on File, then select Import. The RIS file will now be found in the Downloads folder on your computer. To import your Zotero library to EndNote, click 'File' and then 'Import.' Click the 'Choose File' button and select the file you just exported from Zotero. Zotero allows you to import a file of as many sources as you want that youve saved from a database. To do this select “Preferences” from the Edit dropdown menu in your Zotero library. If the Zotero Folder icon is unavailable, or if Zotero doesn't recognize the citation, you can always click the Export button that can be found in most databases, and choose the Export to RIS Format option. To save your Zotero library, click 'File' and choose 'Export Library.' Choose RIS as the file type and pick a filename. To use this tool, you’ll need to setup the Library Lookup feature to search SHU Library collections. Adding the link resolver information to Zotero can help connect you to the full text of those articles that only provided a citation. This is common especially when searching databases such as Pubmed or Google Scholar. While Zotero will automatically save the full text PDF to your library if it is available, there are some instances when you have only captured the citation of the article into your Zotero library. In this short video, you will learn how to add SHU Library’s link resolver to Zotero’s Library Lookup tool.
